TCF UAE

Over a decade ago, the Supporters of The Citizens Foundation (TCF) in the UAE established the first overseas TCF Chapter. In 1998, Mr. Amjad Ali Khan hosted the first TCF presentation in the UAE at his home, where Mr. Sajjad Ahmad requested the community to build the first TCF School from Dubai.

Today the core group of community members who guide TCF-UAE's efforts comprises Mr. Sajjad Ahmad, Mr. Sajjad Haider, Mr. Amjad Ali Khan, Mr. Irfan Mustafa, Mrs. Zainab Burney and Mr. Iqbal Maladwala. The UAE Chapter owes a large part of its success to the support lent by the TCF Ladies Group and the Saharay Group in Dubai and the group of TCF Supporters in Abu Dhabi led by Dr. Azim Akbar.

Achievements

TCF-UAE is registered with the International Humanitarian City (IHC) in Dubai. IHC is an initiative launched by the Government of Dubai that enables humanitarian organizations to facilitate aid and development efforts across the globe. The Chapter received its license in June 2004 after undergoing a six-month long due diligence process.

Over the years TCF-UAE has created significant awareness about TCF across the UAE and other GCC countries. After establishing the Oman Chapter in 2008, TCF-UAE launched the Kuwait and Qatar Chapters in 2009. With existing presence in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, TCF now has a formidable presence in the Gulf region to effectively raise awareness and call upon the communities here to become part of a vision to educate Pakistan by providing the opportunity of education to the less-privileged amongst us.

With support from both individuals as well as corporate donors, TCF-UAE helps raise contributions to fund the construction and operation of a number of TCF Schools. To date TCF-UAE has built over 40 school units across Pakistan.
