Description

• The CDS will collaborate in the development of a curriculum framework drawing upon the National curriculum and TCF’s 5Cs of Quality Education. She will ensure the alignment of curriculum development efforts with this framework.
• (s)He will collaborate in the development of quality English textbooks and workbooks and develop clear and detailed instructional guides which are directly aligned with the books for English language teachers. These should be made drawing upon proven English language instructional approaches in EFL/ESL instruction from international contexts and best practices from the local context.
• The CDS will develop teacher guides in consonance with the curriculum framework and the teacher competency and assessment framework. (s)He will closely liaise with the training unit to ensure connect between inputs targeted at teachers.
• (s)He will conduct comprehensive needs assessments of English language instruction at TCF to evaluate the current syllabus vis-à-vis the curriculum framework; this would entail observation of classrooms, focus group sessions with students and teachers and seeking feedback from experienced educators as external evaluators.
• (s)He will research innovative modes of instructional delivery and pedagogical practices to transfer concepts to different types of learners.
• (s)He will test out sample lesson plans in actual classrooms to gain formative feedback which will feed into improving the resources before they are rolled out in schools.
• (s)He will work with the Graphic Design team in the design of the textbook, workbook and teacher guide to ensure that they are organized logically, are user friendly and easy to navigate.
• s(He) will collaborate with multiple departments on a range of projects related to the development of curriculum, student learning outcomes, testing and similar activities.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in related field is required.

Experience

• Candidate should ideally have at least 2-3 years of experience teaching English/Curriculum development.

Required Skills

• Candidate should have knowledge regarding scope and sequence and benchmarking of curriculum.
• Strong communication skills, and the ability to elucidate thoughts and ideas in clear, conscience and easy terms are imperative for this role.
• Candidate should have the ability to research and collate relevant information.
• Candidate should have the passion to stay current on educational content and teaching methods.
