The Citizens Foundation observes strict confidentiality with regard to donor identity and donations. All donor data, donation amounts, and other personal information such as street address and email address are maintained under diligent control of the CEO, the management staff of TCF and any other TCF personnel expressly authorized by you. We do not share, sell or otherwise distribute our donor information to any third party.
Online donations to TCF are safe and secure. TCF uses industry-standard SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) encryption to protect the confidentiality of personal information and the security of all transactions. We also collect (but do not retain) credit card numbers which are processed by a reputable third-party payment vendor subject to the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards such as PayPal or a similar service.
In order to better understand our users’ needs we use Hotjar, a technology service that helps us better understand our users experience (e.g. how much time they spend on which pages, which links they choose to click, etc.). Neither Hotjar nor we will ever use this information to identify individual users or to match it with further data on an individual user. This type of service analyzes the traffic of this website with the purpose of filtering it from parts of traffic, messages and content that are recognized as SPAM.
