The Citizens Foundation Partners with Knowledge Platform to Strengthen Teacher Development Across its School Network

  September 16, 2026

The Citizens Foundation (TCF) and Knowledge Platform have announced a partnership to deliver TCF’s teacher professional development programmes through a digital learning platform. The collaboration will strengthen how TCF prepares new teachers for the classroom, while supporting its wider teaching workforce to build skills throughout their careers.

Under this partnership, Knowledge Platform’s learning management system will host TCF’s induction and continuous professional development programmes. Teachers will work through structured courses on the platform, supported by in-person practice sessions and school-based guided learning led by their principals.

The partnership builds on two pilots in 2024 and 2025, which tested the platform with teachers and principals across a sample of TCF schools and shaped the design of the programme now being rolled out.

The platform provides separate interfaces for teachers and principals. Teachers access course content, activities and assessments at their own pace; principals can see how their teams are progressing and use that visibility to lead structured discussion and practice sessions in school.

Commenting on the partnership, Riaz Ahmed Kamlani, Chief Operating Officer of The Citizens Foundation, said, “Every school in our network was built on somebody’s trust, and looking after that trust diligently matters to us as much as adding to it. Each of our 16,500 teachers stands in a classroom where the quality has to hold, and holding it steadily across all of them is what we continue to strive for. This has been our focus since TCF’s inception, and this partnership is another step in that direction – consistent preparation for each teacher, and a principal to help them put it to use.”

Speaking on the occasion of the signing, Mahboob Mahmood, Founder and CEO of Knowledge Platform, said, “We are thrilled to be an innovation partner in TCF’s teacher transformation program. We have conducted a set of pilots with TCF over several years to evaluate ways to bring online TCF’s exceptionally deep teacher training program. Based on this careful evidencebased work, we are confident that we can together move forward with accelerating positive impact.”

In a country where the quality of teaching remains a critical factor in children’s learning, this partnership reaffirms TCF’s conviction that investing in teachers is essential to improving learning outcomes for students and its commitment to giving every TCF teacher the preparation and support the classroom demands.
